There is nothing better than our home-made chicken dippers recipe. These are easy to make and healthy because they are baked in the oven instead of fried. They go well with a salad and wedges for a quick family meal.

Crunchy chicken dippers baked in the oven are a healthy and really appetising kids dinner that can be prepared in advance and then just baked when you get home.

They’re quick and simple to make, and while they’re baking, you can get a few side dishes ready.

Serving our homemade chicken dippers recipe with a bowl of mashed sweet potatoes and a traffic light salad is the kids favourite way to enjoy them!

Yes, I am completely aware that this is just three bowls of salad vegetables, but when served this way, the kids eat it, and I am all for making life as simple as possible!

To prepare our homemade chicken nuggets, you’ll only need a handful of simple ingredients.

  • 400g chicken breast – cut into strips, or you could use chicken mini fillets if you prefer.
  • 1 egg – whisked with a fork
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2tsp paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste

Making homemade chicken dippers it’s so easy!

Step One – Prepare the oven and baking tray

  • Preheat the oven to 200C or 400F
  • Take out a non-stick baking tray – or if you don’t have a non-stick tray lightly grease a baking tray with a little sunflower or olive oil.

Step Two – Prepare the chicken dipper coating

  • Mix up the breadcrumb coating – tip the panko breadcrumbs into a bowl and mix in the dried oregano and smoked paprika. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Beat the eggs – in a small bowl with a fork

Step Three – Make the chicken dippers

  • Make the chicken dippers – dip the chicken breast strips into the egg, then breadcrumbs and lay the breaded chicken on to the baking sheet.

Step Four – Cook the chicken nuggets

  • Cook the chicken dippers – bake for around 25-30 minutes – or until the chicken is cooked through properly with no pink remaining. Try serving with greek yogurt sauce

Really easy crunchy chicken dippers that the kids will LOVE!

Ingredients

  • 425g chicken breast - cut into strips
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 100g panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2tsp paprika
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 200C/400F
  2. Take out a non-stick baking tray
