★ Why You'll Love this Recipe ★

My grandmother was a big fan of jello and whipped cream desserts so I had to dust off this old recipe to share it with you all!

This layered Jello dessert tastes great and is extremely easy to make.

All you need is just 4 main ingredients plus water! Pretty amazing for as impressive as this dessert looks!

The 2-step process for creating the layers is simple, you just need a little patience to let the first strawberry Jello layer set before adding the bottom creamy layer.

★ Ingredients You'll Need ★

All you need is 5 ingredients! So simple.

Here's everything you need to make this beautiful Jello dessert:

  • Fresh strawberries. Sorry frozen will not work well. They tend to look and taste soggy.
  • Cool Whip. I prefer this to homemade whipped cream. Seems weird but trust me, it's just better.
  • Jello-o. Strawberry or go rogue and try another flavor if you'd like!
  • Cream cheese. This is totally optional! You can replace this with more Cool Whip if you don't want a cheesecake-like taste. (My son isn't a fan of cream cheese so maybe you have one of these people in your family too)
  • Water. Easy enough, right?

By the way, you can make this with any kind of fruit, not just strawberries. Try mandarin oranges with orange jello. Blackberries, cherries, raspberries or blueberries!

★ Tips & FAQs ★

What kind of bundt pan do you need?

I picked up a pretty rose-topped vintage jello mold at a local thrift shop. It looked as if had never been used. I was excited because you never see these things any more and I remember my mom used to have these hanging on the wall growing up!

You can use any size bundt. A smaller bundt pan will produce a taller dessert which can look nice.

However a large bundt pan works too if that's what you have. No need to buy anything new.

Don't have a bundt pan? You can shop bundt pans on amazon or try your local thrift store and see if you get lucky like I did!

For best results use a nonstick bundt pan.

The Trick for Getting Jello out of the Mold

Without totally destroying it!

  1. You do NOT need to grease the pan.
  2. The key is submerging the mold in water water.

Submerging the outside of the pan in warm water for about 10-30 seconds, loosens the Jello from the walls of the pan just enough for it to slide right onto your serving platter.

The amount of time needed to submerge varies depending on how thick your bundt pan is.

So if you're not sure, start with submerging for 10 seconds and look to see if the Jello has released from the wall of the pan before trying to release it. Wiggle the pan a little. If the Jello still looks pretty attached to the sides, submerge it for longer.

When it detached from the wall, you're ready to carefully invert the mold onto a plate. Start by placing a plate, upside down on top of the mold. Then quickly but carefully flipping the mold upside down with the plate now facing up. The Jello should drop onto the plate.

If it doesn't easily drop out of the mold, give the mold a couple of taps. If it still doesn't drop, then you need to go back to submerging it a little longer then try again.
