  1. The first two times I made these they turned out fantastic! The third time I tried to make them using the same pickles I had nothing but trouble. The pickles would not pick up any of the flour egg batter. They were too slimy. What went wrong? They were SO good the first two times. I tried drying them off more and that didn't work. I even remade the egg batter and it was the same the second time. Also, I did not have panko crumbs the second time so I used regular shake and bake and it was much more crispy. Also, the first time I made them I baked them on a stone in my grill at 400F. I put them on a silpat on a cookie sheet on the rectangular pizza stone in my grill...I forgot how many minutes but I took them out when they looked right... didn't have to flip them... the bottoms were crisp too.

  2. The boyfriend and his two young boys (14 and 9) absolutely love deep fried pickles. I searched and found this recipe and decided to give it a home-cooked healthy go. It was a smash! I added some parm to the breading and made it with a spicy mayo dipping sauce. A total to be repeated affair!

  3. Thank you for posting!! After I had deep fried pickles in a restaurant I started craving them again...your recipe was wonderful! I will definitely be making it again.

  4. Excellent and soooooo easy! I think the 20 minutes prep time is too much--I did mine in about 10.

  5. These were delicious! Don't bother buying Cajun seasoning if you don't have it on hand. I just combined a different number of seasonings such as extra garlic, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, oregano, or whatever you want to add. I also added a little extra hot sauce to give them a little extra kick.

The most defining trait in my life is that I am a mother to two wonderful boys (Tyler, 20 and Zayden, 9). I live in the little college town of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. It is the most wonderful place to live as it's nestled in the Appalachian Mountains and along the beautiful Susquehanna River.Seeing that we live in Central Pennsylvania, our family is also a bunch of HARDCORE Penn State Nittany Lion fans! We are...PENN STATE! I was lucky enough to be given tickets to see Joe Paterno win his 400th game as the head coach of the football team. I cried like I did when my children were born. The other love of my life is cooking. I didn't really start trying to cook until I was 20, but believe me I have made up for lost time! I absolutely adore baking and I do it whenever I can. I love making Christmas cookies and I have begun hosting our extended families at our home for Thanksgiving and Easter dinners. So far so good. I love food.com because it allows me to expand my culinary skills and my recipe box with ideas from other people like me. There is something for everyone and I have been a loyal member since 2005. I hope you enjoy my recipes and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
