SUMMARY: Today's high of 97 degrees tied a 1963 record in Kenner, with similar temperatures expected tomorrow and minimal rain. A late shower near Morgan City showed on satellite, but otherwise it was mostly sunny. The heat index is currently 92°, and temperatures are in the 70s and 80s. Slightly less humid air helped prevent heat indices from reaching dangerous levels, staying in the upper 90s and low 100s. The upper high pressure system will keep conditions hot through tomorrow. Moisture may increase rain chances Sunday into Monday, with potential street flooding mainly on the Southshore. Drier conditions are expected starting Tuesday.
Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin says expect it to be hot and dry Saturday, but there could be spotty showers on Sunday. Next week, rain returns.

SUMMARY: Today, food drive donations from our viewers were delivered to homeless veterans. The initiative, in partnership with Max Fresh Food Market and The Well Spring, collected food for local veterans. The Well Spring aids veterans with services like rent, utilities, legal assistance, and healthcare. Many veterans are disconnected from community resources, so this food drive—coordinated with KTV—provides crucial, immediate support. Max FR Market expressed gratitude to customers and associates for their contributions. This year's efforts collected over five tons of food and water, bringing the six-year total to nearly 40 tons. Thank you to all who donated!
