How do I obtain Protection or a Continuance Request (i.e. Vacation, Sickness, Trial in another county, etc.)for a case already set on a Jury Trial Roster during the week I need protection?
If you need protection for a date/dates that your case is set for trial, please email Lyndall co*ker, lco*ker@greenvillecounty.org. Your email must have the detailed reason for the request, the approximate time frame of where you feel the case should be continued and you must copy all attorneys of record. After the request has been reviewed, you will receive an email with the decision of the court.
Should you just need “blanket” protection and you do not have a case set on a Jury Trial Roster, please email Kimberly Watford, Non-Jury Coordinator, kwatford@greenvillecounty.org, and she will be able to assist you.
How do I obtain a 24/48 hour Notice Requirement for a case already set on a Jury Trial Roster?
Notice Requirements should preferably be addressed at the time of the Status Conference. If no notice was requested previously, please send a detailed e-mail to Lyndall co*ker, lco*ker@greenvillecounty.org and she will be able to assist you if the judge feels your case warrants 24/48 hour notice.
Where can I view or copy the current line-up of cases set on a particular Jury Trial Roster?
Go to https://www2.greenvillecounty.org/SCJD/courtrosters/RosterSelection.aspx and scroll down the Roster Description column until you see the term of court in question.
How and when will I be notified that a case has been set for trial on the Jury Trial Roster?
Trial dates will be determined once the Status Conference Roster is published. Greenville County holds Status Conferences each spring and fall. You will receive notice via e-mail or US Mail when your case has been set on the Status Conference Roster along with detailed instructions/procedures. It is your responsibility to keep your e-mail address and US Mail address updated. Failure to do so will result in you not receiving important roster information. Once the case has been set on a trial roster, you will receive a complimentary notice, with further information, approximately a week before the trial term.
Who should I contact regarding a settlement for a case that is
seton a Jury Trial Roster?
To report a settlement of a case set on a Jury Trial Roster, email Lyndall co*ker, Jury Trial Coordinator, at lco*ker@greenvillecounty.org. Please indicate if the case has been settled fully or partially. You must then e-file the appropriate dismissal document with the Clerk of Court Civil Records division. Once Civil Records processes the e-filed document, dismissing the case in its entirety, the case will automatically be removed from the trial roster.
If a case is not on a current roster, please just e-file the settlement documents directly to the Clerk of Court, Civil Records Division.
What happens if a Jury Trial case is not reached during the week it first appears on the roster?
Cases not reached during their scheduled term of court will be carried over to the next court term and will be repositioned numerically with the cases that have already been set for that week.

If you need protection for date/dates that your case is ALREADY SET on a Non-Jury Trial or Motions Roster, please email the Non-Jury Coordinator, kwatford@greenvillecounty.org. Your email must give the case number and the date and time of the scheduled Motion or Trial, a detailed reason for the request, and you must copy all attorneys of record and/or any self-represented parties in the case. After the request has been reviewed, you will receive an email with the decision of the court.
Should you just need “blanket” protection and you DO NOT have a case currently set on a Roster, please send an email-with a letter of request attached-to the Non-Jury Coordinator, kwatford@greenvillecounty.org. How and when will I be notified that a case has been set on a Non-Jury Trial or on a Motions Roster?
Non-Jury cases are placed on a trial roster at 9 to 12 months from the date the case was filed. You will receive notice via e-mail or US Mail when your case has been set on a roster.
Non-Jury Trial Roster notices will let you know which week of court your case has been called to trial. They will also instruct you to attend a roster meeting at 9:30 AM on the first day of that week of court. At the roster meeting the Presiding Judge will let you know the day and time during that term of court that your case will be called for trial.
Non-Jury Motions will be scheduled within 24 hours of filing and roster notices will be sent via e-mail or US Mail giving the date and time that the Motion has been scheduled for hearing in your case.
It is your responsibility to keep your contact information updated with the Clerk of Court so you will be assured of receiving timely notice.
Who should I contact regarding a resolution or withdrawal of a Motion or the settlement of a case that is set on a trial roster?
To report a resolution or withdrawal of a Motion, or the settlement of a case set on a trial roster please email the Non-Jury Coordinator, kwatford@greenvillecounty.org and copy all appearing parties or their attorney.
In the case of the settlement of a case on a trial roster you must follow up by e-filing the appropriate dismissal document (self-representing parties send hard copy) to the Clerk of Court Civil Records division. How do I know when the next Non-Jury Trial Term is scheduled?
The Greenville County Circuit Court of Common Pleas holds NON-JURY Trial terms four (4) times per calendar year, once per quarter. You will be notified approximately 6 weeks prior to your term of court by e-mail or US Mail. If you provide both a physical address and an e-mail address with the Court, your e-mail address will automatically be used for notifications from the Court. It is your responsibility to keep your e-mail address and US Mail address updated. Failure to do so will result in you not receiving important roster information.
Are Pre-Trial Conferences currently being held for cases on the Non-Jury Trial Docket?
Pre-Trial conferences for Non-Jury cases are not currently being held in for Greenville County Common Pleas cases. However, a mandatory Roster Meeting is held by the presiding Judge for each Non-Jury Trial roster, usually at 9:30 AM on the first day of the designated term. All counsel and self-representing parties are expected to attend unless they have made arrangements otherwise with the court.
Do I need to contact opposing counsel with the date and time my motion has been set?
Yes, the moving attorney/party is responsible for notifying each opposing party or their attorney as to the date and time of the motion hearing. The Clerk will send a courtesy Roster Publication Notification via either e-mail or US Mail to all counsel and self-represented parties who have made an appearance in the case. That courtesy notification does not take the place of any notice requirements found in the SC Rules of Civil Procedure.
Are there any requirements for memorandums on non-jury motions?
Memorandum filing requirements are addressed at the bottom of the roster publication notification that is sent to each appearing party or their attorney when a motion is set for hearing. Most judges require that memos or briefs be filed with the Clerk of Court (attorneys must e-file) at least 3 business days prior to the hearing. Where do I obtain a copy of an order that has recently been signed or check the status of an order that has been submitted for the Judge's approval?
All documents filed in your case are made available to the public on the Greenville County Public Index. Enter the full 13 digit civil action number for your case (no dashes) in the search information section, then select “Search”. When the search results appear click on your case number (it will be blue) and the case information will be displayed. Select the “Actions” tab on the left side of the page and all the various filings and actions in the case will appear listed chronologically. Find the document you wish to view and click on the corresponding image icon to the right of the document listing. For further help you may contact the Clerk of Court Civil Records Department.
